Our research suggests that providers need a unified solution to support all of their VBC program needs regardless of whether they choose to take the journey into value-based care on their own, as part of an ACO or IPA, or decide to work with a VBC Enabler. VBC Enablers open new opportunities for providers and health plans to access the support they need to maximize their contracts. They also add a net new stakeholder into the mix—increasing the complexity of the healthcare landscape and the need for knowledgeable partners to facilitate better data exchange. 

As organizations progress on their VBC journey, they should ensure they have a trusted, experienced third-party vendor to support the strategic exchange of data necessary for mutual success and the continued evolution of future VBC models.
