Azara Glossary: Data Validation

Data validation is one of the toughest nuts to crack in health informatics. It comes down to being certain that providers are using their EHRs in a standard fashion, so that all the data that needs to be collected, is.

With a lack of data standards in health care, that can be more of an art than a science.

It's useful to ask: "Is the data a complete snapshot of the care being delivered?" said Greg Augustine, Azara's vice president of operations. "Only then will people have confidence."

Azara is working hard on this concept with customers, since an extensive data validation process allows DRVS customers to use data as a strategic asset.

But as you health pros know, data capture and validation is an ongoing process.
