From the CEO's desk
I hope all of you are enjoying your summer. Each year, it feels like it takes forever for my kids to be finished with school and out on vacation. Of course with all of last winter’s snow days, school did continue deep into June. Now – before I can turn around – we are staring down Labor Day and back to school and fall activities.
For me, one of the reasons this summer has passed so quickly is the sheer amount of activity here at Azara. Just this summer, I have found myself in California, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, and New York – not to mention Massachusetts, where I live and Azara is headquartered. As I travel to visit community health centers, networks and primary care association's around the country, I am awed by the hard work and dedication of the people I meet and the extra mile they go to serve their patients and communities. I am also proud that Azara can, in some small way, shape or form, assist these folks in their efforts.
Closer to home, our Azara team has expanded steadily. We have added several new staff members across all aspects of the company, including engineering, client support and implementation. In addition, we are happy to welcome two summer interns, Zach Lowry – returning for his third summer with us – and Ben Freudman, for what we hope is the first of many summers.
From a product perspective, the release of the new DRVS User Interface (V4.0) has been the highlight of the last three months. The interface introduces a cleaner looking, mobile-friendly face to the DRVS product. While initially the functionality in the interface remains relatively the same, the underlying infrastructure of this interface will allow us to begin to add features and visual components not possible in the previous platform. Stay tuned for more exciting updates to the UI as the year progresses.
From a client and market perspective, May, June and July represented the busiest period in Azara’s history. Our expanded implementation team conducted 14 simultaneous new client installations, not to mention the usual updates, upgrades, enhancements and other work necessary to help our clients keep their data current and valid.
Several clients have worked with us to document their success stories, so as to help others find ways to unlock their data and put it to use within the health center. Below, you will find highlights and links to these interesting and exciting case studies. I encourage you read and learn from them. If you have a good, data-related story or case study that you think your community health peers can learn from, please let us know. We would be happy to help get it documented and published. Our team is prepared to do the heavy lifting so that you don’t have to.
The Azara team will be heading out to the NACHC Community Health Institute in Orlando on Aug. 20, and we look forward to seeing many of you there. If you would like to get together, please don’t hesitate to reach out in advance. In the meantime, I hope you all take a few moments to enjoy what is left of the summer.
Best,
Jeff
