VP of Clinical Transformation
Heather Budd is passionate about using data to lower cost, improve outcomes and build sustainability for healthcare delivery practices, particularly in community health settings. She is an expert in clinical delivery transformation using data as a foundation for trust, measuring performance, and driving improvement. She has partnered with numerous practices across the country doing this kind of operational improvement work.
Heather was previously the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Quality Management at a community health center in Rhode Island where she led a care team transformation which received NCQA Level 3 PCMH recognition. She worked directly with providers and their support staff to ensure that data was used in huddles to prepare for patient visits. To prove the efficiencies and improved care resulting from PCMH team-based care, the health center successfully partnered with a local Medicaid payer and its data to illustrate total medical expense savings, while maintaining or raising quality of care.
Before her work at the health center, Ms. Budd was a health IT consultant focused on performance, quality and process improvement using EHR data-based reporting and analytics. She spent five years prior to that at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as an administrator, where she caught the process improvement bug. Heather also learned first-hand about the value of systems, patient care, and the importance of both staff and patient satisfaction.
