Clinical Quality Measures Analyst

Azara Healthcare is growing and here’s an opportunity to join on the ground floor. We are looking for a clinical quality measures professional to support measure conception, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of clinical quality measures. You will assist in the entire clinical quality measure life cycle from start to finish.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a culture of collaboration and willingness to work cross-functionally to add value across the product development lifecycle from requirements definition through roll-out
  • Become a domain expert in clinical quality measure design and standards
  • Help identify and source measure specifications from stewards and government agencies, such as CMS, and NCQA
  • Engage with end users, internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements to provide quality measure solutions
  • Create and present functional and technical requirements to business and IT teams and write user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Review and monitor data reporting results across application areas to ensure data consistency and data quality
  • Translate clinical and healthcare operations questions into analytic hypotheses, data needs, and reporting requirements
  • Facilitate data requirement review sessions with functional owners and end-user representatives
  • Support the work of the Clinical Measure Solutions team to define and implement source to target mappings to standardize data from a variety of healthcare organizations
  • Improve processes and introduce automations in data normalization management by working closely with Client Analytics Team

Skills & Experience:

  • Required Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years’ relevant experience in quality measurement, health information technology, or related field
    • 5 + Years of experience
    • Understanding of the clinical healthcare domain and experience working with health data sets
    • Familiarity with Healthcare clinical quality improvement and data reporting programs such as HEDIS, UDS, CMS Quality Payment Program, etc.
    • Working knowledge of healthcare terminology, workflows, and governance
    • Experience performing detailed analyses and summarizing findings at appropriate levels of detail using charts, summary statistics, and specific examples
    • Excellent attention to detail, logic, and organizational skills
    • Experience developing user stories that accurately capture stakeholder needs
    • Experience documenting and communicating requirements to key stakeholders
    • Time management and organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks based on importance and time sensitivity
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Hands-on clinical data management experience
    • Ability to identify and initiate resolution of data problems by using tools like MS Excel, SQL queries, Python, or KNIME
    • Working knowledge of data analysis and ability to query data at a basic level using SQL or similar language
    • Understanding of clinical terminologies (e.g., CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, LOINC, SNOMED CT, etc.) and their uses in healthcare systems
